Hello everyone,
What makes you stay with your current web hosting or domain provider?
Why don't you consider the switch to new ones?

Well, actually I'm current using Ipage hosting with basic package. The loading speed is a bit slow and I plan to switch to another new hosting...

The reason for switching is,

I'm looking for reliable hosting...

Faster...

Better support...

Happy to hear you are making a decision on personal experience, we try to coach the Industry on the negative affects of utilizing an EIG-Owned Hosting Provider. I recommend you be extremely careful when choosing your next provider, be sure that you aren't just signing up with the same provider under a different company name.

The biggest thing I looked for when I was a customer, and strive to provide today as a provider is Reliability of Service. You can have all the support in the world, but in the end none of that matters if your website is Slow, frequently Offline or prone to attack!

As long as you feel you're getting your moneys worth of hosting, then why would you switch? Everyone has expectations for their providers - in web hosting, people expect quality support, good uptime, good loading speeds and a fair price. As long as your provider lives up to that, there's no reason to switch.

I would vote for their support system. They provide me with good support and most important thing is that I get a quick response. They don't make me waiting long hours before I send a reminder again. Also their 'Emergency' ticket system helps much to get things resolved within a few minutes. I offer support even during the weekend and holidays, which I found lacking with my previous web host.

Personally, I have always looked at the following in the past

  • Customer Service interaction
  • Realistic Prices & offerings in features
  • Interaction with customers
  • Solid operation (professionalism, not a template web site, not in a cheap DC, etc...)
  • How long in business
  • Money back guarantee
  • reputation in other forums

The biggest for me is the interaction in communities and with clients. I usually find a few waving red flags with the amount of non sense to get a client or how they response to legit and non-legit complaints/feedback.

I'm happy with my hosting and I have no reason to change. Come to think of it - web hosting is a great business model - provide a good service, keep your customers happy and they'll stay with you for years!

The most important thing to be considered for stay with a hosting provider is uptime and second is quick and effective support solution. In hosting world, there can be technical issues but a good support service makes hosting easier.

I am not very high tech and not overly concerned with price. I will stay with a company as long as they have good services and customer support

The reason I stay with my current hosting provider is because they have USA in house support, not outsourced, they employ Americans that speak english, and do not have a translation language barrier.

Plus when the fit hits the shan with my server.. 2k worth of support comes for free. :)

Speed and Support is the main reasons most webmasters switch to better providers.

I look two things in a hosting company, Speed and Uptime. If these things works great at a web hosting company, we wouldn't need to contact their customer support and I will be happy in persisting with that web hosting company.

IMHO, Technical Support is the most importance factor that makes customers to stay with same web hosting provider for years. It is because, when customers have good technical support they can enjoy the peace of mind. Good Hosting support allows customers to concentrate on their actual business without having to worry about Hosting problems.

Though I agree for you, I think what's most important is a proactive admin team rather than a reactive one. By maintaining each system and conducting routine maintenance, then you should be able to create an environment that functions in such a way that customers will have little to no reason to actually contact the technical support team.

I think all web hosting customers have different issues based on their level of hosting skills, website type, technologies chosen to create website, web application requirements and numerous other things. If technical queries have anything to do with server environment, all customers would face same problem. What I believe is support queries are more customer specific rather server environment specific. Also, almost all web hosting providers have similar structure to host PHP based (cPanel/WHM with CloudLInux/CentOS) and ASP based (IIS 8.0/8.5 with Windows server 2008/2012) websites.

Support is important. And i do not want to get "internal server error" for all day.

The "internal server error" issue isn't always at fault of the hosting provider; this can be caused by numerous things including:

1. Improperly configured .htaccess file or script; or
2. You have reached your resource limits (RAM/IO/Process/Connections).

Both of these issues can be avoided by:

1. Consulting a developer to review your software;
2. Upgrading your hosting package, as you've probably outgrown it (cheaper is not better always);
3. Don't use any "Major" providers such as any EIG-Operated brand or GoDaddy; or
4. If using wordpress, leverage caching plugins and properly optimize the software as Wordpress can be extremely resource intensive.

I've only ever used two hosting companies and the first one I can't even remember the name. I went to hostgator and have never looked back. Why? Because when I have a question they have a live operator ready to do a online chat with me. They have always solved any problem I've come up against. Their price is reasonable so I don't see any reason to change. Quality and customer service mean more than saving a few dollars

I was always looking for good speed and uptime, promptness and professional interaction with support, 24/7 availability, their readiness to explain certain things to me and good prices, not necesarilly cheap.

In the past I have seriously considered another hosting company because there where multiple problems with my hosting.
The thing that kept me at the same host company was their great support. My hosting company is willing to go the extra mile and are always looking for a solution.
Most of the time they respond within 15 minutes and they always come with the right answers.
So In my case it speaks for itself why I'm not going to change hosting company.
Good support is one of the greatest things because from there on everything can be fixed.

Reliability. Once the service is reliable then the need for customer service is almost non existent, thus they have more time to focus on keeping things running smoothly, it goes in circle :)

P.S: Nice to see MightWeb and HostLumina logos around here :)

As long as I'm getting reliable web hosting services, there is no point switching to some other web hosting services. I chose one of the best web hosting services after reading all the reviews posted on the review site. Thankfully, I face no server issues and other issues regarding Linux hosting services. :)

I'd say support above all else. things break sometimes but having something break AND not being to get fast support is the worst
