How to check dedicated servers

Our team is using a VPS from AX (hosting around 15 sites on it) and going to update to a dedicated server in the near future
I want to know how to check a dedicated server is really good? speed, resource, RAM, CPUs...

Please share your experience?

A typical low-end Dedicated Server will be much more powerful than a VPS. How much RAM does your current VPS have? I recommend choosing a Dedicated Server that incorporates DDoS Protection into the bundle; just in case. What is your budget?

You can compare specs (CPU, RAM, Bandwidth, Drive Space, etc) by simply looking at the various offerings.

You also want to take into account what kind of hardware are they running. Contact their sales teams to find out which processor, what kind of drives, (SSD or HDD, Consumer or Enterprise grade), etc.

Also make sure to find out their network uptime, support availability, etc.

You should check the CPU, if it is latest or not because many hosting providers offer old and out-dated CPU's and hardware. The other important thing to be considered would be RAM as this is the memory of your server and type of Hard Drive, SSD is more preferable as it delivers faster data response time.

CPU ==> Xeon® Processor E3-1230 v2 or Xeon® Processor E5-2609
RAM ==> 8+ GB DDR3
Port connectivity ==> 1 Gbps
Drives ==> Enterprise class HDD SATA with RAID (SSD Drives provide excellent I/O performance but too costly)
Bandwidth ==> 10TB or more.
