SSL is Best Encryption Technology, Which allows the user to use open the website in secured mode by using HTTPS. The Website based Business will be in need of tested and authenticated SSL to accept the secured user personal data and Financial credentials.
Where as Invalid or Unassigned SSL certificates causes the less traffic on website, leads some browsers to stops direct links on those websites by showcasing the fatal error on all the website pages.
Updates of SSL is important, as The authorized SSL will work on all the browsers and gains good traffic.

Yes, it Defines the SSL and its effect on business. The Invalid SSL will result in less traffic on Online business Website. For instance, the Invalid or expired SSL leads to the whole website go down or showcases the Warning Messages on pages. The Valid or updated SSL for your Website works for al most all Browsers from where you can get many hits to your websites.

With most of others, SSL is a needed for ecommerce website.

With me, it's good because it's a search engine ranking factor in Google.

SSL is an end-to-end web encryption method that protects websites and customers from such attacks as man-in-the-middle attacks that could result in customers credit card information being stolen. It is a requirement of any payment processor to have a SSL certificate in place on your website.

I have never seen a invalid SSL certificate cause a website to go offline!

The Valid or updated SSL for your Website works for al most all Browsers from where you can get many hits to your websites.
I have also never seen a SSL certificate generate more traffic to a website!

One thing for sure SSL will not generate more traffic... If you are collecting personal information such as address, credit card details etc. then it matters such as ecommerce sites on payment related pages ONLY... Otherwise there is absolutely no need for it... It is not a major ranking factor and as mentioned it is only applicable in certain scenarios relating to sensitive data capture...

An SSL certificate ensures safe and secure medium of submitting your private information to the web. It is designed to protect the integrity of data while it is being transmitted between one system and another. SSL certificate enables the browser and Web server to build a secure, encrypted connection so that submission of credit card information, email address, or other personal data would be securely transmitted and not accessible for anyone to view. SSL certificate is essential when your hosted website is e-commerce or involved in online financial transactions. Websites having SSL certificates installed can gain more confidence of visitors and keep them coming again.

When we browse, we normally send and receive information using HTTP protocol. In this way anyone to eavesdrop on the conversation between our computer and the web server. Many a times we need to exchange sensitive information which needs to be secured and to prevent unauthorized access.
We require SSL(HTTPS) in many way as mention below.

1. Banking Websites
2. Payment Gateway
3. Shopping Websites
4. All Login Pages
5. Email Apps

I just can't publish a new project without having a SSL Certificate on it. Nowadays, it's becoming an important part of projects overall.

If you wish to keep your data transmitted more secure, you should get your SSL Certificate authorised. Having your authorised SSL will remove all your traffic limits and you will start building trust with ISPs.

It seems to me not even normal users trust websites without SSL anymore.
Search engines also prefer websites with SSL.
Not to mention it's impossible to run any serious webshop without it.
I think we are passed the point of debating whether one should install SSL or not.

SSL is crucial. Let's try to explain why (using words everyone can understand).

So, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate is used to protect user's sensitive data, which includes: credit card information, but also usernames, passwords... anything that should be encrypted - hidden from malicious sources.

Of course, your sensitive data will be visible to the server/source you are providing the information to. SSL safely connects you to the server directly.

For website owners - SSL is a must. No discussion there.
For users/customers - don't purchase, sign-up, or do anything confidential on the WorldWideWeb if there's no SSL certificate.

SSL encrypts any data that is sent to your website, preventing anyone else from being able to read it. So whenever you use any kind of form on your web page for login, registration, payment, it's good to include SSL. Otherwise, users will leave your website and it will hurt your conversion rates. It's also advisable to display a security logo of your SSL provider to build trust

However, you don't need to include SSL on all pages on your website. Static pages and pages that don't ask for user's information (such as FAQs, documentation, blog) don't need SSL.

SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. It creates a encrypted connection between a web server and your browser. So the data you provide to a website remains safe from the possible attackers & it saves your from potential dangers. That's why SSL is important.

Hello

This posts doesnt give any extra information than what many people already know. And some of the facts are incorrect, there is no effect on your website traffic by SSL. Although, SSL can better your SEO ranking and help you get more traffic.
