A HTTP status code 302 means a "Temporary Redirect.
A HTTP status code 301 means a "Permanent Redirect.
If your page locations have changed temporarily or permanently, you should use a (302 or 301respectivly) redirect so that your visitors aren't following broken links and so that search engines know where to find the content.
