Operating Systems For VPS Hosting?

I have read through the forums in regards to specs on a VPS and I found some OS for VPS that web hosting providers offering as the following OS options:

CentOS
Debian
Slackware
Ubuntu
Gentoo
Fedora

I want to know which is better for PHP sites hosted on a VPS that stable, advantages and more secure? thanks

CentoOS is by far the most common and best choice. This is what the majority of linux web servers use.

Debian, Fedora, and Ubuntu are good choices also, and we have a few customers that use these, but there is typically another reason they choose that. If your not sure, stick with CentOS.

Generally each of the OS has its own purpose and no comparison can be done. Each of them have its own advantages and disadvantages. Centos being the common OS and the best one.

CentOS is the most common. You can use it for XEN/KVM/OVZ and almost any virtualizor.
