Well I know it might sound obvious and simple but often very overlooked by webmasters/bloggers/IM's so busy with other things, but have you tried putting together a list of longtails for your niche or industry and any top questions that are asked/searched on that niche/industry and seen if your site actually has those words on your site? Also check them in quotes like "does this longtail phrase exist anywhere" and see if it does on any other sites and where and if so see how they've incorporated them into their site for ideas. See what they've done and then do what they've done but only much better. Be controversial. Who'd have thought it would be as simple as that but that's what its about as well but you need to write and create content on and around those keywords. Keep pumping it out regularly and keep the spiders coming back with new fresh, unique content around those keywords and longtails to give them something to chomp on and "train them" by repeating the process over and over again, sometimes it can take a few weeks before you start to see more traffic picking up as your articles get indexed sometimes it can take months along with other SEO before you see results by way of more organic traffic through better rankings. After all, you want to be an authority in your niche. :)

That's what you need to be doing is making sure you give the search engines what they are looking for!

Hope that helps trustdnb.

This is quite common during the holiday season and other times of the year. What I mean is that, during the holiday season, people tend to be purchasing physical products. Digital sales typically go down during this time of year. Once the new year starts, things that people make resolutions about see an upswing. For example, people always seem to want to turn over a new leaf, so to speak, and do things like lose weight, make more money (have to recover from the holiday season) and find love (Valentine's Day in February). In other words, this stuff can be very niche-based.

- Do some keyword research and find Long tail targeted keywords.
- Less competitive keywords mean quick ranking (but it's tough job to find)
- Make sure your website is SEO friendly and you have inserted your keywords on all key position. You will find some great articles on Onpage SEO on web and on this forum too.
- Build some quality contextual backlinks (mostly through Guest Blog posting).

Unique article theory is obsolete for now the new algorithm by google is giving only 30% weight on unique content. The powerful way to get organic traffic is to reviews on other forums about your site or blog.you need to write some fantasy about the content your deliver so people are trying to look at.

Hi softnwords, could you back up your claim that Googles new algorithm gives only 30% weight on unique content? Where have see that said to? You work at Google too?

By the way, reviews on forum would be referral/direct traffic not organic traffic wouldn't it?

Also could you elaborate on what you mean specifically "you need to write some fantasy about the content your deliver so people are trying to look at."

About the content of your deliver??

So people are trying to look at?

I can't get my head around your post! Lol

Thanks for explaining and enlightening us about this 30% Google algorithm claim. :)

Traffic from forums or blogs will be treated as referral traffic, those are not organic traffic. Unique article is one of the key factors of quality content. Being unique doesn't mean that the article is fulfilling visitors query. But Quality article should be unique, isn't it?

Right, it would be referral (direct) traffic if it came from another site not from a search engine (organically). Yes unique articles are one thing out of many. But you can still rank sites using nothing but PLR content. Hell you can even duplicate a sites content and rank it through SEO.

To get organic traffic you must post your blogs for the targeted users not for the Google algorithm. If readers will find your content informative for hem automatically you will gain their trust and this will lead to draw orgainc traffic to your sites.
