What is Growth Hacking and it is useful for SEO?

On the thread https://www.webmastersun.com/threads/12843-What-do-SEO-experts-do-all-the-time thread I found a new word "Growth Hacking". Anybody who knows about it plz tell me. What is actually and how useful in SEO?

Growth Hacking is a marketing technique which is used to attract new users at low cost.

A Growth hacker increases the users for a specific product using innovative ways. Growth hacking is used to gather more customers.

Improving your site's speed, displaying your social presence on each part of your website and building testimonials of your service/product are things that are included in Growth Hacking.

Growth hacking focuses on exponential growth not linear growth. Usually a term thrown around by people that have VC funding and don't have to worry about making a profit or want to focus their revenue on staff instead of a bigger marketing strategy.

In my opinion, it has nothing to do with SEO, though you can take a similar approach for SEO activities to maximize the impact or minimize time involved.

Distribution is the biggest problem in the internet marketing currently. Users are drowning in information and most likely won't pay attention to the next vest widget, no matter how good it is. So here is where the work of growth hackers start. So I would say that growth hackers look even BEYOND SEO for distribution of the product. Traditional market channels are of high cost per aquisition and maintain low life- time value. In the time of social media, the right growth strategy with the right product-market fit will lead to the massive scale throuh the viral loops. That's what growth hackers do. Though experts say that growth hacking will be replaced by neuromarketing soon.
