There are various ways to promote your youtube page but most popular i have seen is people gaining a following on twitter, facebook and other social media sites to link back to youtube or sharing the videos from your channel onto other websites that will find them useful

Keep on uploading and don't stop uploading.

Keep the content high quality,
Think of an title! very important is the title.
Thumbnail images! not have basics, do some Photoshop editing
Tags, add as much good high tags for each of the videos
Get your video posted on social media
