How to manage PBN after you created it?

I bought some expired domain names with good backlinks pointing to them. I will start some first and maybe buying more later. My question is how do I manage them for the most effective helping my main sites or clients' sites? I think I can use a tool like AutoFill Magic (AFM) but seem it is pretty complicated with me. How do the pros keep control over all sites in PBNs. Any one has experience with this?

Just keep them and all relevant info on a spreadsheet.

Then I use SEOMatique to monitor them and make sure they don't get hacked or have hosting issues.
