Ever since SEO became a thing (or, at least, ever since it started to gain some renown), everyone has been looking for new ways to make their sites score higher in search ranks. And what's easier to set than well-known parameters such as keywords, through just a few lines of code?
However, with the introduction of social medias and mobile devices, many more criteria have been introduced and taken into account. Web design and navigability, mentions, visits, overall reliability etc. have all become important, and webmasters, in order to survive, had to adapt.
How do the old parameters such as keywords fare now? I know they're still very important, but now that it can't possibly all boil down to choosing the most fitting and the most clicked keywords for our website, how much effort should one put into this? And, furthermore, how much do they influence search results now compared to other aforementioned criteria?
