Does bit.ly affect my backlink power ?

I'm wondering if using bit.ly to shorten my link will decrease my backlink power or not. And also does it have any benefit to use it?

As long as the url shortening service uses a 301 redirect, the link juice should be passed on. But.... Personally I would never use a url shortening service unless I owned it.

What would happen to your empire if they went out of business? What if they decided to empty their database? What if they decided your links are no longer welcome?

It's just a way to short website link.

Definitely it will decrease power for your backlink, redirected links never good as directly links.

Hi,

Bitly URLs crawls by google bots. So, it may be count as a backlink. So it doesn't effect to your website.

you are using this because some of the sites main link is not directly accepting so, you can use bitly to submit your main link
