Sometimes they dont index your site because it can have low quality content or u need to wait more

If you've submitted your XML sitemap in Google Search Console, investigate what URLs Google's reporting to be missing and verify whether these need to be indexed. If they need to be indexed, add them to your XML sitemap. If they don't, make sure to implement a robots noindex.

This is not a quick action, you must certainly wait (from a few hours to a few days) depending on various circumstances and is different for each website.

You should check out robot.txt file I think its missing that's why sitemap is not indexing.

What if site does not have site map? How important is this? Would you lose many viewers to your site?

I don't use one and I've never had a problem. Google will crawl and index your site perfectly fine without one.

I think it happens becuase of coding part is not according to search engines requirements.

Google takes some time to fetch and index newly submitted websites. If it's becoming too late then you can use request indexing option it will help you to index faster in SERP.

You can push faster indexing, but it is better to wait for Google crawlers to do their thing.
