How Old Is Your Computer?

Hello ,

can you share about how old is your computer?
I've got a PC and used it for 3 years and I'm going to get a new one, do you think that I should change my PC with 3 using-year ?
According to you, how long do we should purchase a new personal computer?
any shares ?

My Toshiba laptop is about a year old. My dad bought it for me for my 25th Birthday which was March 8th 2013.

I have an emachines Desktop with windows xp that's getting close to 7 years old. It's still running strong so far. But I expect it to die anytime.

My computer is two years old and it is running good as mother board is branded, the speed is also very fast.

My current computer is a laptop that is now about 1,5 years old. I am however not one to change my computer all too often, as long as it works for the things I want it to work for. That is mostly internet, Word and a few minor other things. Although I have to say that a new computer was a very nice thing to have!

I bought my computer 6 years but its still working very well.

Same with me. I've never upgraded it, and it's not really fit for making movies/videos with it. Otherwise, it's okay.

I'm as ancient with my laptop as what I was with my old cellular phone before it broke into smithereens...lol

I own a 2007 Toshiba Satellite Vista AMD Anthlon Dual Core 3GB 64 Bit operating system.

Note: I had to look that up, cuz I'm not computer wizzz ... lol

I quite like it, even though it's 7 years old. I will be looking into purchasing another one. I have thought about upgrading and not getting rid of it. I haven't quite made up my mind...

What do you fellers think???

I've just updated my PC since last month. Using Intel chipset 3.6 Ghz with 4 dual cores, 8GB RAM and Getforce (GPU) 2GB DR5...for process graphics quickly

If you only use it for writing or basic document, it's ok but if you use it for graphic softwares or games, I will advice you update to a new OS . From 7 to 9 years old for a computer, it should be updated to a new PC

Do you think that using Laptop is slowly when you write or typing on its keyboard ?
because I couldn't type words fast on lapstop as I did on my desktop

Wow! I thought it's only me left out there with Vista on my laptop!
My 6-y.o. machine is good for everything basic, but for making videos (at least for me).
I wonder how you managed to make your animations on your computer!

For my videos, I cannot for the life of me, use my laptop. I have to use HipCats Before he bought his new one, we struggled with making videos with our old systems. It was TERRIBLE. I can't do them on mine. What a difference on his Lenovo.

My last one was an 8 year old Dell, and still works great, but uses XP and doesn't handle HD content well, so I decided to get a new Lenovo laptop. So far I like Windows 8 and the Bluetooth capability (I carry a small wireless speaker into the bathroom with me...lol).

It seems to handle multitasking quite well too

My oldest pc is 8-9 Years old, still now i m runing Linux as OS there, testing and learning new stuff on server versions of Linux OS, then my newest pc is old like for few months, got 16gb ram, i7 cpu, 2,8 gb graphiccard.. Still waitin for some cash to buy the new graphic card from nvidia, dat one titan z Watch this

Yes, HipCat and I are just a couple of Webmaster's in love...lol
He's been in the game much, much longer than I, so he definitely has more experience in the IM world. I've been at it for a couple of years now. We have separate niches that we deal with individually and we have ones where we work together.

We are around each other ALL the time. Everyday we sit beside each other with our laptops, talking about current events while working. It's nice.

There were several times when I felt like throwing my laptop out the window because it was so choppy and sssllllooowwwww (video making)... Horrible, and painful experience.

The one that you seen Marianne... That one was done on my old system lolol

Well our uni's rules.Every student must have a laptop(for projects).But believe me working in desktop is much easier when compared to laptop.
