There are a lot of nuances with language. As someone who is multilingual (I speak 3 languages and 2 local dialects) translating is not as easy as it may seem. You need to have a superb grasp of the pop culture of that specific language (context is important) I found this to be the most important aspect because I learned Spanish by the books only and attended 2 Spanish classes in college. When I actually came to a Spanish-speaking country–they struggled to understand me because I was not using common vocabulary lol.

Constantly learning, practicing, and progressing in language use. For me, the best practice is to study specifically one foreign language for a long time in order to be able to read without a dictionary and regular manual translation. Then it is desirable to practice communicating in it with native speakers so that it is much easier to perceive various contexts. Then move on to the other language, not forgetting to practice the previous one. Just be methodical and persistent and everything will work out ;)

To become a good language translator, you can follow these steps:
  1. Study a language: Choose a language to specialize in, and become fluent in it.
  2. Study linguistics and translation theory: Learn the theories and methods of translation to understand how to effectively communicate meaning from one language to another.
  3. Get certified: Obtain a certificate in translation or a related field to demonstrate your professional competence and credibility.
  4. Read widely: Read books, articles, and news in both your source and target languages to build your vocabulary and cultural knowledge.
  5. Practice: Translate text from one language to another to build your translation skills and refine your style.
  6. Work with native speakers: Get feedback from native speakers of the languages you're translating to improve your accuracy and fluency.
  7. Stay updated: Stay updated on the latest developments and changes in your language pair and the translation industry.
  8. Network with other translators: Network with other translators to learn from their experiences and stay updated on best practices in the field.
Hope it helps!
