what is external link ?

I have a confusion let say my site name is example.com and have a page name about.html

example.com/about.html ( its an internal or external link for my site name is example.com)

Its your website internal page and link with your home page or other page so its internal link as well for your site. In short its a part of your site.

Hi..Backlinks which gets from others website it could be consider as a external links...And external links are helpful to the reader, but they should be kept minimal, meritable, and directly relevant to the article. thank you...
