Skip Meta Description for to do SEO?

Currently I saw a lot of websites do not show the correct description (meta description) on the Google SERP but to get article content description instead, meta description is no more important in SEO ?
should remove the Meta Description tag in website ? any suggestions ?

Accurate description helps people know about your site, does not matter much where than google focused web content, if there are more rational content, it displays quoted instead of the description.

But we shouldn't skip meta tags, it is still used by search engines, when the search engine receives any query and if it finds that meta description is helpful then it would display meta description as well.

Thats true Google got web contents instead of meta description and showing it in search result. Shouldn't remove meta description in websites
