Do Expired Domains Still Retain PR & DA/PA?

Hello webmasters,

I found some expired domains that last time it has got good PR and DA/PA, but I don't know if I bought it for using then their backlinks and more other values will still retain like its PR and Domain Authority/Page authority when I register?

what should I do and how to check it if it have had any values ?

I read an article online that an expired domain make a fresh copy or resets in the eyes of a search engine but there is a huge difference with the deleting domains that are up in auction but haven't been dropped yet.
Page rank is there but its downgraded a bit due to expiration, but its worth while as compare to new one to make traffic and grabbing attention.

There's no guarantee, though it is possible (I do this all the time) if the PR will stick. What you can (and must) do is check if the backlinks are still there. And the backlinks have to be equivalent to the advertised PR. My rule of thumb is, the website must have at least 2 backlinks with equivalent PR so if one backlink's gone, there's still a possibility the PR will stick. Always do your due diligence.

First of all expired domain are different from dead domain and there is no surety that expired domain will have good PA/DA and PR.

What's the difference between expired domain and dead domain? Please elaborate it.

Some times expired domains also retain PA /DA and that DA / PA may be good in numbers. The reason for this is the back links for the particular expired domain are still in existence. The presence of those back links makes expired domains to retain PA and DA.

Yes expired domain can contain PA, DA and PR but as they've got expired, so that is not advantageous for any website to create good backlinks.

I think, expire domain does not affect in Page Rank, Domain Authority and Page Authority. But it affects in SERP rankings.
