HTML5 is the new standard for HTML. Additional plug-in is not required in HTML5. It does everything from animation to apps, music to movies, and can also be used to build complicated applications that can run in a browser. It includes new elements for drawing graphics, adding media content, better page structure, better form handling, and several APIs to drag/drop elements, find Geolocation, include web storage, application cache, web workers, etc. It also includes integration of scalable vector graphics (SVG) and MathML for mathematical formulas.
HTML5 is also device independent. It is possible to write web applications in a computer which has no internet connection. Most of the browsers support new HTML5 elements and APIs. Here error handling will be easier than in previous versions and scripting has to be replaced by more markups. Here I describe the major advantage of HTML5. So, HTML5 plays an important role in web application.
