Blog Commenting in SEO ?

Most of people write blog to share the knowledge and people leave feedback as a comment to their blog.. but if we talk in the using blog commenting as part of SEO strategy ..how much it is helpful and how a internet marketer get traffic or back link to website..
Does anybody have any kind of knowledge regarding to this.. please share.
