Wordpress 3.9.1 upgrade/header & background disappeared

My site was automatically given the upgrade to WP 3.9.1 a couple of days ago. Today, my header and blog background disappeared. I was able to reinstall both of them, but could this be due to some glitch in the upgrade? I've never had that happen before.

I guess you might use wrong code that unsupported from new version of wordpress so if possible, post your code in your header file or codes to show header and background (quote your site) on this thread, some experienced people can help you.

It should not be the case because in WordPress upgrade it upgrades the core wordpress file and not the theme because header and footer is associated with theme not the core files.
I assume you have placed some codes in core files and made the changes from core instead of theme file and that could have been the issue of getting it overwritten.

Just go to themes and re install old theme again, it may work. Or it is css problem.

Check display none is written or not?

WP has most likely upgraded some of the core code which has upset your theme.

If you want to avoid this happening again, I would recommend digging a bit deeper and finding what changes to the core caused the header & background to disappear.

At a guess, it might have something to do with

Glossing over it, there were a few changes to the header area specifically. It's worth reviewing those and seeing where things we wrong.

There is also good information around that will tell you how to future-proof (as much as you can) WP mods.

Yeah WP 3.9.1 is comes up with a vast features but I guess I still prefer the previous one. I find myself more comfortable with it.
