Above the fold update

Just heard someone talking about Google's above the fold update. I want to know what exactly it is because google cant penalize anyone just because they are using images on the top of their site?
Its really weird IMO :boxing:

Where have you heard about that Update as I haven`t heard about any such Google update since Feb 06, Last year
