Have you heard Google's Pigeon effect?

Recently Google released Pigeon effect last month ending.
Any one knows what are the effects and improvements?

Good and very unique question for today. Google Pigeon rolled out 24 July 2014. Yes I am reading something about it. As I know it's designed for local search ranking algorithm not for spam. It is going to improve local search result and map search listing in Google.

That's good to know that Google is continues updating there algorithm and provide search result more quality proof. As you said it is not for spam but improve local search result but I think indirectly it is reduces the spam. Can you provide me the URL where you read about it briefly???

Yeah. It is affected only local search query and give accurate and relevant results to searchers.

Yes Google has released a new algorithm to provide a more useful, relevant and accurate local search results for local customers but "Pigeon" is not Google’s official name.

I read about pigeon effect only on local searches nothing to do with global.
