Dear friends, Why Dmoz directory is so important? Why is everyone trying to get into DMOZ? This directory is really helping our website improve rankings on search results or SEO?

DMOZ is one of the oldest and most respected directories on the Internet. Their strict guidelines make it very difficult to get a listing in. You can also say that the strict review process puts them in favor with Google. Also, because listings are not "paid" for, Google cannot knock them for selling links.

Do you need a link here? No.

Would it be nice to have a link there? Yes.

It is an Old though, today i see sites not on DEMOZ beats DEMOZ listed sites very easily. A DEMOZ association can be advantageous, but overall SEO process has to be carried through.

Dmoz is very old website. Its PR is 7 and its presence since 1999. Everyone want to get link from this website because its PR is high and its traffic is also high. Its a free website but in this website the submissions are limited.

Maybe because it's Old Directory with highly Editorial inside. but on i found some link that already not work(dead).
