Hello,

Not sure if this is the good forum to ask this question but I didn't find anyone better.

Do you know any good software to find offline local leads? By that I mean local brick and mortar shops, you enter a city and a type of business and then you get a big listing. What I'm looking for personally are websites without a mobile version.

I tried two but they are more or less useless. So if you know some, please let me know.

Thanks.

Cheers David!

You may or may not know this, but with brick and mortar I have a method that has worked quite well for me! I used to be in casual and fine dining so I can deal with the public pretty well.

What I am doing now is hiring lead generators and offering a commission. I coach them on what to do (i have private youtube videos for that) and they go and get the leads. I convert them.

But in the BEGINNING I wasn't as able to hire people so I did foot work. "Pounding the pavement" as they say. I would look for businesses paying for yellow page ads (don't know how effective this is now or even what yellow pages rates are) and I would then see if they had a site online and see how it was ranking, because I am an SEO. I would pinpoint the sites and then visit their office and offer a free consultation and leave my business card. They would then call me to schedule an appointment and I would visit them in office.

The visits would usually go well and I would leave the office with a down payment on services.

You could apply a similar method but customize it for you. Find local businesses in your area that are spending money on ineffective marketing techniques, that way you now they have a budget. Then go look at their websites and see if they are responsive. If not, go to their office with business cards in hand and ready to sell your butt off. You can't really offer a consultation, because there isn't that much to talk about with just mobile sites.

This will open the gate for you to outsource! You find a company that knows SEO, and you learn a little so you can upwell your clients the SEO and make a commission. All website clients need SEO and you can really sell them on it easily.

If you'd like to know how to do this let me know!

Cheers

*****EDIT: LOL I got on my spiel and forgot to answer the question which I don't have an answer for and would like to know the same thing. As far as sniffing out local leads, I am not sure if there is a software that does this. You can buy a list. Thats about as close to automating the process as I think you can get. It's why I advised the manual route. It's more work in the beginning but you build long lasting clients with your efforts.

Hello Eric,

Thanks for your answer.

In fact I really want to avoid to have to visit businesses myself, I'm more looking for some partners to do that or independent sales rep. But that's another story.

About my initial question, I have two software to find leads. I don't know if I can give their names here or not.
The problem is one give me some "random" results. I enter a city and a type of business and I can get some results in China or Russia when the city is in USA.
The other one works when it wants. I don't want to have to continue to run the same research several times per day until it works.
Both tell me if the site has a mobile version, with more or less success, and the contact email address.

I suppose it must be possible to find one that works better, or to create one.
