Yes David.

I was in your position once upon a time. I was fired from my job and had a few hundred dollars to my name. Living week to week, check to check left me $0 in savings.

It's funny how I got my start in IM. This was before the big "thrift store" bang.

I would go to thrift stores and find books, old vintage books. I had my phone with internet and this was around the time 4g came out. I'd simply visit the ebay site and check books that looked valuable 1 by 1. I've found some pretty amazing books.

One I wish I hadn't sold was "How To Sell Your Way Through Life" by Napoleon Hill. Found a first edition for $1. Sold it for $200. It's worth around 5-10x more. And is actually priceless when you consider the info it give about becoming rich.

The work became tedious and I moved on to bigger things. I enjoyed going through the thrift store, digging through stuff. I would find gold jewelery, silver platters, clothes with the tags still on, etc... There is some really great thrift stores in Michigan still. I went their for Christmas and wish I had time to visit a few. Everytime I visit a thrift store in MI I walk out with $300+ in profits.

I resell everything on Ebay. Or used to. I don't have the time anymore. Listing the products is the tedious part.

After 2 months I finally was given an unemployment check. I collected for 8 months and skipped sleep 3 times a week to learn what I needed by the time unemployment ran out.

You have to see the curses as the blessings they are and you will prevail. I could've have looked at losing my job as a bad thing, but I saw the positive and now I don't need to be hired by anyway. People call my phones with jobs everyday. Pay me up front ;)

EDIT: The moral of this thread is. When you don't have the money for something you have two options.

A. Resell stuff you can collect $$ for first or...
B. Buy something cheap and sell for a large profit

You can ideally invest a small amount in paid advertising whilst building a mailing list. Try Affiliate Marketing since it works the best with Solo Ad campaigns. Make sure that you have an estimated ROI (Return of Investment) before you start investing. Moreover, don't rush to spend the whole budget on advertising. Try to acquire a project or a tool that can be used to limit the paid advertising expenses whilst increase your revenue.

I agree on buying websites that more potentials to ean money with them. But buy backlinks then it's not exact this time when google hasn't update PR since 1 year ago.

The only hard part of your suggestion is that you must find a low competition niche with high search volume as well as find a unique approach to market it. This way, he can make a hundred times the amount you estimated per month.
How to estimate a low competition niche with high search volume?
what are the average monthly searches??

Yeah, I understand but the whole thing about Internet Marketing is profit. Even though it's hard to find low competition/high search volume niches, this doesn't mean they don't exist. If you make a good research and you find a niche that meets the previous criteria and if you setup and promote your niche properly then you have found a goldmine.

If I had to start with $300 I would start by choosing an affiliate product to promote then write a short 15 to 30 pages report/ebook that is related to the product.

At first I would rely on free tools such squeezepagecreator.com and getresponse. Getresponse allows you to try their service free for 30 days. The aim here is to build an email list.

I would give out the ebook I wrote for free (with affiliate links), then offer them valuable information for 3 days via email. If you can do this with video instead of using text then that will be great. Then start promoting the affiliate product and get related products to promote as well.

Mix the affiliate promotions with some valuable information and free stuff in your emails. For traffic, I would use a facebook fan page and spend the money on fb ads as well as post my squeeze page on different facebook groups.

That's what I would do if I only had $300. But I believe the best way to make money online is to create a product, run a jv contest, get affiliates, launch, get sales and enjoy the Dot Com Lifestyle :D

Launching a product requires a bigger budget and time but if you can nail it with $300 then go for it. Hope that helps, good luck.
