Hi everyone,
Part of the success of Twitter is due to the use of hashtags, a common practice among its members. But have you ever wondered what use the hashtag?

Hashtags work well on instagram and Google+ not on twitter. But anyway, a hashtag is the hash symbol put together with a word(s). Like this:

#Ricardo
#RicardoRocksBigTime
#intenetmarketing
or #intenet #marketing

Those are hashtags, putting the hash symbol (#) before a word(s).

Hashtags are like popular events happening right now. For instance #superbowl, #rexryan. What happens is when you click on a hashtag, it will load up all social posting that has that hashtag in it.

Wow its sort of hard to explain but when done right, you can get great targeted traffic.

Yes, hashtags are essentially what made twitter so popular, so much that Facebook copied the model. Hashtags are clickable, allowing users to see what others are taking about who aren't necessarily their "friends" or "followers" which makes Twitter much more newsworthy and interesting. It allows people from all over the world to connect and share their opinions instantly. Like the hashtag, the search tool in Twitter is very powerful. Search any word or phrase and it will pull up every single tweet that includes that word.
