Hey all,

Outsourcing is a beautiful thing and was popularized by the 4 hour workweek, and the news, since most jobs in the U.S. are being outsourced overseas for cheap. When in Rome, do as the Romans. And why do the work yourself when you can hire someone else to do it for you?

Anyway, here is a list of the outsourcing sources that I use in my own business endeavors. I hope you find them useful. Also, feel free to add to this list. I remember having a hard time finding places to hire remote workers and virtual assistants when I first dabbled in outsourcing years ago. Cheers!

Fiverr: Don't expect great talent, but it's certainly cheap.
Easy Outsource: Personal favorite for remote workers, designers, marketers, VA's.
Craigslist: Post in gigs for whatever you need done.
Freelancer: Decent...not great IME.
iWriter: Hire the best writers...you get what you pay for.

Outsourced . ph: Haven't used this myself, but considered it.

Along with my online work, I write articles for local businesses (and entrepreneurs), write content for their websites ( which both Hipcat and I build for them), while making simple banners for online advertising. Sometimes we also make short videos for businesses while we review their service.

When it seems like we are going to be behind in our very heavy schedule, we do outsource locally to help get the job done. As far as my online work, I have never outsourced duties. Hipcat and I work together quite well and have a very strong work ethic.

Unfortunately for me my laptop fried, which mean't we had to outsource a little bit more for the offline work. I did, however, get a tablet for Christmas, so now I can at least do many of the little things that are required in both my online work and offline without hiring others to do the things I have time for.

When you hire locally, you encourage under the table employment on a casual basis. Whether you have a couple good friends who you know are reliable and open-minded, or if you want to have a student who is eager to extend their knowledge with research, writing and photography skills. Plus students always need the change to learn and earn!

Know what you are willing outsource, and who you would like to outsource to. There are certain things we are OK with, but there many things that we're not. Make a list of what you're OK with, what you are willing to teach them, and what you are clearly NOT OK with. Once you have figured out the boundaries and expectations of the person(s) you pick, you will feel at ease when you hit those times you're overwhelmed :) :D

I have used Elance in the past with decent results.

You can also run WSO ads on forums in your niche and look for people who are willing to do work for pay, and likewise look for ads from other offering their services.

My advice would be to continue networking and find a good outsourced worker or two that are reliable and dependant and keep them close, paying them on time and offering them lots of work. Once you have a few, they will trust you and you will trust them.

I am not big on the freelance websites, I usually never find good talent there. LinkedIn was actually a surprise to me, I found a few outsourced workers by luck. I came across them when i was networking for something totally different and found them.

The same opinion because I didn't think there any more talent people on freelancer websites, I tried there and if we don't select people to hire carefully we can get risks.

Can you share any ways to find good talents on LinkedIn?
