Fundamental Post Panda / Penguin Onsite and Offsite Tactics + Traffic Generation Techniques + Other Tips
Pathfinder,
Heads Up = Long Post!
Here are some fundamental post Panda / Penguin onsite and offsite SEO tips...
1. Separate your target exact match keywords with significant local (your target country/ies) and global monthly Google searches into two lists -- First list is for primary keywords that you'll be building your onsite content with, and for keyword anchors of outbound links that point to relevant internal pages and to external pages under authority sites. Second list is for secondary keywords that you'll build your offsite content and inbound link anchors around...
2. Build longer, more in-depth onsite content. Provide more diverse content around your primary keywords, such as written materials, videos, written content with images and combinations of these content types in a page. Follow standard keyword placement strategies...
3. Use your primary and secondary keywords in Google, in order to create a diverse list of authority sites and top ranking inner pages, which should of course be directly and laterally relevant to your niche, and of course to your target audience (so you can benefit from traffic funneling results of your backlink building campaigns). NOTE: By "diverse", these can be say 70% to 80% dofollow and 20% to 30% nofollow sites, blogs, Web forums and social networks among others...
4. Go to the MOZ Open Site Explorer and run each URL of the inner pages and homepages of the sites that you found. Take note of the DA (domain authority) and PA (page authority) of those inner pages and homepages...
5. Try to place backlinks in the inner pages and homepages of those sites. Use your secondary keywords as anchors of those backlinks. Use 60% generic keywords, 25% branded keywords and 15% commercial keywords for those anchors. Diversify your backlink placement campaigns into say 70% to 80% of sites with significantly high DA / PA and 20% to 30% of sites with lower to mid DA / PA. Diversify the landing pages of your backlinks -- Say 60% for your homepage and 40% for your inner pages...
TIP: By regularly participating and initiating relevant discussions, if possible, in those pages and sites -- You can drop backlinks in your content contributions (when allowed and when it's non-spammy to do so), funnel targeted traffic from those pages and sites to your inner pages and homepage, and build yourself as a familiar name in those online places, which will significantly improve the responsiveness of the admins / owners / Webmasters of those sites when you contact them and introduce yourself and try to strike mutually beneficial (sell them the idea) guest posting arrangements, content syndication agreements, ad banner / advert / text link / mailing list ad placement deals...
Here are some additional reminders:
• If you create your own videos, then keep in mind to create a Youtube channel and sign up as a Youtube Partner -- Earn ad revenues from your videos in Youtube and from your onsite and offsite video embeds and shares, even if others share and embed your videos in their own sites and social networks...
• Find popular / trending / viral / top viewed Youtube videos that are relevant to your niche and to your target audience -- Take note of the tags that are used in those videos. Use those tags in your own videos. This could increase the chance of your videos to be listed in the related video sidebar of those videos, which will funnel that traffic to your own videos...
• If you don't usually want to create videos, then you can sign up in the Dailymotion Publisher network -- This'd allow you to search for relevant videos in their database (Dailymotion says they currently have 2.5M videos in their database) that you can embed in your onsite posts. Since these video embeds will have your syndication key -- You can earn from ad revenues generated by these video embeds. Also, as long as your syndication key's in the code of these video embeds -- You can still earn ad revenues from these videos even if you or others share and embed 'em elsewhere (your other sites, social networks, sites of others, social networks of others, etc.)...
• When you embed videos in your onsite posts -- It's best to add new written content and images to the post. This'd allow your post to be picked up by Google and Bing for LSI keywords that aren't in your primary and secondary keyword lists...
• When you embed images in your onsite posts -- Of course it's best to provide alt text (especially for blind users like myself). Use your primary keywords for these alt text entries, keeping in mind to diversify your primary keyword usage into 60% generic, 25% branded and 15% commercial...
• Better to have an attention-grabbing, enticing and compelling opt-in offer with an equally attention-grabbing, enticing and compelling copy that your viewers would drool over and won't think twice to hand over their names and emails in exchange for your opt-in offer -- This'd allow you to build a list of targeted warm traffic on demand...
• Create a Facebook page and post your opt-in copy (a video version of your opt-in copy would be best) with a compelling call to action message that has a link pointing to your opt-in offer, as a pinned to top post in your Facebook page. Share your Youtube videos and onsite posts in your Facebook page...
• Look at your options for distributing press releases -- This can generate good backlinks and, more importantly, bursts of targeted traffic. If you have a suitable opt-in offer, then you can find creative angles to write press releases that actually look like, well, press releases...
• Also, by promoting your opt-in offer onsite, and your affiliate offers at the backend through follow-up emails and broadcast emails -- You can focus on building a more content-rich site...
