what should I do with google webmaster tool?

I like this tool very much and I check stats for my site daily but I want to make it more useful for improving SEO my site, what things should I do with google webmaster tool?
monitor keyword rankings and update articles to increase its keyword higher on SERPs?

Please share your suggestions and thanks in advance guys, I really appreciate all the comments.

The main use for me is to check my back links and key words, so that i will try to improve my website content more rich, unique and we can remove bad back links using disavow tool as well.

Google Webmaster Tool gives report of SEO work. If Google webmaster shows any error, I think you should remove that and soon ranking of your site will be improved

You can check everything about your website performance on GWT..Like

1. You will find relevant search term for which you can optimize your website.

2. Your website's broken links...analyze the broken links and then try to 301 redirect to the relevant pages

3. Structural data testing: You can check whether your website perfectly markup with rich snippet...as you know rich snippet markup is growing in SEO.

4. You can force index a page, if the particular page not indexing on your websites

Webmaster tools will help you analyse what is actually going on with your website. For instance you can see what inbound links are coming in, but it doesn't actually "Rank" you on Google. You will have to start the SEO process for that.

First it's a great monitor tool check your backlinks, main keywords, indexed pages, problem in loading pages.....
Second you can tell Google more about your site: Submit a sitemap.xml (helps Google crawl all the pages in your site), look at the HTML recommendations - check where you've got duplicate titles, long descriptions....
And Finally if your site got punished this is the place to contact Google or submitting Disavow of links.
