Managed vs Unmanaged VPS?

Highly depends on the intended usage. A managed VPS can be great, as it allows you to focus on what you're intending to do with it, rather than the backbone security and updates of said server. It also doesn't remove any of your own control from it - it just allows you to - in case it's needed - get help with solving an issue, ensures it's updated and locked down, etcetera.

This comes at a cost however. If you're comfortable with managing the server yourself, then there's little reason to pay that extra money.

If you know how to play with linux than self managed VPS will be cost effective and you could customize it as per your needs ... if you are not techy person than go for managed services and they will do each and everything for you ......

Managed VPS would definitely be the better option as you don't have to worry about anything related to your hosting, you just pay the fee and your hosting provider will take care of the rest and you can concentrate fully on your business.

It depends on your skill set. I would go with a managed VPS so you don't have to deal with the hassle. If you really want to go with an unmanaged VPS but have no experience with managing a Linux server, you could always get a small unmanaged VPS package and put a non-critical website on it to learn the ropes.
