There are many ways to get traffic to a squeeze page or website. Please share which methods you are using and how well they work for you. The first question I would like to ask is this. Do any of you use Safelist, and if so what has been the result.

I have heard lots of things about ListJoe, Bweeble, and other Safelist but don't believe it could work. The concept seems good but if people don't really read your email it's not going to work, plus I don't see how the traffic could be targeted.

Thanks, the safelist is just a way to get this thread started. Please share your traffic methods.

Hey sister, I trust you're well :)

I'm always searching for new and easy ways that I can share with my students. I've tried safelists and they're just crap and bring in small traffic. I recently tried Bweeble and I regret wasting my time on it, the interface kept freezing and I got 30 clicks out of 1000 emails sent and no optin.

These don't have a good ROI.

So I always go back to SEO, blogging, video marketing, reddit, forums and social media. According to me, these are the best traffic sources and I use all of them at the same time and I'm happy.

No matter what I try, I always end up going back to the traffic sources I mentioned above. I guess those traffic sources are what I'm really good at besides anything else :)

Hello Content by Rhonda,

I use safelists to test headlines and copy for solo ads. I've tried a few safelists but the one that has proved to be consistent and reliable is Herculist.

Back in July 2014, I spent about $40 or $50 dollars to send a solo ad through Herculist. I got 655 hits / 23 opt ins / 2 orders. I also got 2 orders from another solo ad provider. Those 4 orders earned me about $170 in commissions.

I continue to get optins from Herculist but haven't received orders from them since July 2014.

Like I said I test headlines and email copy with them every 2 days as a Pro Member, which cost me $15 for a year in one of their sales. I would then run the better headlines and copy of PPC platforms and a few solo ad providers.

LB.

I'm doing well, thanks. I tried Bwebble and Listjoe last week and had about the same results as you. I'm trying to get a newsletter off the ground and looking for traffic to place my squeeze page in front of. I'm like you. I think I need to stop worrying about how fast I build a list and traffic and return to tried and true methods.

I don't know what reddit is, so will check that out. My plans for next week are some slideshare presentations, and possible video. Thanks for your help.

Cool, I'm always glad to help. Reddit is more like a forum and here are a few guidelines you should know before using it:

https://www.webmastersun.com/threads/9424-How-to-market-a-blog-post-on-Reddit

I've tried slideshare and scribd, both are really good. They can bring good traffic to your site, you should definitely check them out. The only problem is that these sites are over crowded these days so you publications will bring traffic for a certain number of days then stop in a few days.

So you'll have to keep publishing new content to keep the traffic coming. But the traffic is really worth the effort if you're willing to write frequently, which I don't think it's a problem for you :)

Yes, you should definitely do video. Videos can go viral easily and they convert really well.

I will give you a few things that I can think of:

Facebook - Create a page on Fb and make announcements regularly. People should find your page and be interetsed and they may visit your site.
Twitter - very good for getting your name out there. You tweet tings about your site and follow other people who may be interested in your site.
Stumbleupon- This is a website that you set what you enjoy, eg tech and whenever you click a button it will load a website that is related to your preferences.
Reddit - very popular network where you can make a subreddit, like a forum about your website.
digg - link submission site, good to get your link out there

The most biggest network is Facebook and twitter which is in social media marketing, try to make a page invite your friends to like that page and you can also promote your pages via facebook ads so it get more and hug of traffic and convey them to visit your link so you get alot of traffic generation from their.

All marketing strategies work, if you take the time to learn them..I use safelist and tes, and can get more traffic to my opt-in pages then most of the whole database of this forum combined, because I took the time to learn them, do not give bad advice to people because you "tried something" I would never, ever take advice from people who "tried something"

I have been marketing online for over 12 years now, and tes and safelist I still use everyday in my marketing, and by experience, and I use other traffic as well, but I would not trade the traffic for any other traffic source online, the conversion ratio from actual opt-in to some one taking action is way higher then with any other source.. And I do not "try traffic sources", I make everyone of them work..

You sound like a complete newbie when you say you tried a traffic source and then you want to give advice about it..????? Do not offer up information for something you tried..If I have not used a traffic source successfully, I offer no advice about it, because I know for damn sure someone else has mastered it, you only offer advice for something you can teach because it has worked for you..

I hate when people offer up idiotic advice to people they know absolutely nothing about!! And you can not offer advice about something you are not experienced in!

This would be like a Doctor saying, hey I tried being an auto mechanic, but that didn't work...??? And then the Doctor gives advice about how to be an auto mechanic..Start threads and offer real advice about a topic you know something about, do not offer up crap..

Some tes and safelist have over 1 million members, I do not know about you, but I sure like putting my advertising out in front of them!!

Well I certainly respect your point of view although it was pretty strong and pointed. Thanks for your advice. Glad the safe lists are working for you. I did use them for a couple of weeks and had not one opt in, so time wise it didn't work for me. Having said that maybe I don't know all there is to know about safe list like you do. I'm not new to being online but since I am a writer I've not worried about traffic that much. My clients have come to me through forums and word of mouth but now that I want to increase my business and offer a newsletter to other people wanting to know how to write I'm learning about traffic. I'm certainly not an idiot even though I may be misinformed. :)

Well you don't have to understand, just know that people on a forum share what we do and how it works for us. That's the great thing about a forum. It's like church. The sermon means different things to different folks. Let us move forward and make some money as we "earn while we learn'. Thanks

A forum is a place to help people based on total experience, not a place to offer up opinions from something tried for a mere two weeks, that would be like me saying seo does not work because I tried it for two weeks...???

I really can not stand when people give people false and bad information when they have no real experience in the subject, I would absolutely never do this.. It only hurts others. And whoever removed my link in my post, that post backed up everything I said, it was not self promotion, and why you removed it I do not understand. It was a blog post that backed up everything in my response...

I did not remove the link and never saw it. I think you've said enough. I have my opinion and I'm not saying anymore. I don't have time for being told how wrong I am over and over and over. I'd done my best to see your point and I've been as nice as I can be but I'm done. I don't need another reply. All I said was I tried safe list for two weeks and they didn't work for me. I may try them again at some time, but for now, it's not worth my time. (my opinion and I'm entitled to it). This forum does NOT need to be a place to make people feel small and stupid. Please remember that when replying to post. Your opinion is needed and is important to the forum, but kindness is also needed.

People struggle online to make money and need real help, not opinions, they need real facts, my only concern is giving people real factual information that will actually help them, I do not care if you are offended by my responses. My goal here being part of this forum, is not to offer up inaccurate information. It is to help people, based on real experience from real results had, I will never respond to a question or offer advice to something I really know nothing about.

Hi all, I'm brand new to the forum and got referred to it by Richard.

Just want to put my two cents in for traffic exchanges and safelists. :)

I've been using them since the late 90's and haven't used anything else...Ever. Never paid much attention to anything but free and low cost options and they have served me just fine.

That being said, I know people swear by SEO and that's fine. Type in 'traffic exchanges' in Google, I'm sure you'll find me or one of my websites. But I got good SEO because it was organic and I never 'tried' to get good results. But then again lol I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to SEO.

But I do know traffic exchanges and safelists.

Made a living using them for years and they are fantastic options WHEN you know how to use them properly like Richard was referring to.

Not trying to convert anyone or anything, just sharing my experiences from almost 2 decades online :)

Thanks Jon and Richard. I have since talked to Richard and he has explained a little more in depth and it appears if done correctly that traffic exchanges and safe list work. I'll admit that only using them for a couple of weeks was probably not a good enough experience, plus I have not checked into traffic exchanges. However I'm willing to give them both more time and effort along with other traffic methods.

Thanks again!
