Google always needs quality from everyone.
Probably in this, 2 major update will roll out by protecting from spammers. Yes Panda and Penguin Auto refresh update will hit and penalize the low quality websites this month.

The change is implemented in order to eliminate ‘low quality’ content, or in other words, spammy content trying to rank in the search engines. You have to understand that Google is only trying its best in eliminating results that are not relevant or not useful because its users have requested it.

Google is no longer entertaining websites which are trying to get rank using unethical strategy. Google is filtering the search database. I see most of spammy websites which have lots of spam blog comment, webpage which have lots of spammy guest book submissions, spammy bookmarking sites already de-indexed from Google.

Google now only works on trust, better your website is trustworthy for Google, better ranking you can expect for long time.

What you can do is focus on the quality backlinks and quality content. Create blogs and share the quality content as much as you can.

I don't think any of the update is coming in few weeks. Because they were only making few changes in their algorithm and they are done with this 3-4 days ago.

As a result of this may be possible some website got affected or going to be.
