I would like to build a new website for my local business and I was wondering, what is the best URL structure I should build in order to increase my SEO rankings locally?

Also if possible, I would like to know site structure too. Thanks in advance.

Use what your customers would normally search for on the search engines.

For example, I searched for: plumber perth australia
Found the terms in some domain names and either subdomain or page.

The structure depends on your business type. Do people need in urgent cases specific services or products you carry?
Above all, I have had the best results in leveraging specific local needs within the construct of local based websites - always gave me top positioning.

The key thing is to organize your site to be "relevant" to your customers in that area.

Now move to the question's answer --- You want to start a business and wan its existence online, it is just a very good Idea, Now because your business is local so I recommend the following points
  • use short domain
  • use the extension that represents your country like (.in - India), (.us - USA), (.eu - Europe) and likewise,
  • very important not related to URL but very Important to a business Use the Google Map for your shops location.
