I think both platforms are different they are not taking place of each other. If we do both things for business then the success rate will be very high. For e.g. If we use Social media marketing for retargeting audiences and then we use lead generation campaigns after that we can use Email marketing for it.

There is a lot of noise on social media, cute cat pictures, political drama, policing of what you say...Just for starters. A lot of distractions. Ever make a post on facebook that gets 0 engagement and you hear crickets chirping..?? Statistically Social media does not have the personal engagement that email does. For the “Big 3” of social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter), the engagement rate isn’t even 0.6%. Compare that to email’s average open rate of 22.86% and even its click-through rate of 3.71%. Social media marketing though has a place in our over all marketing strategy, it is another channel, so use it. This is why I love content marketing. When you have your own website/blog normally you tie in your blog post so they can be syndicated on social networks. Your blog/website should also have your optin forms on them so when people do visit your post you have syndicated, people can then subscribe to your email list through one of your offers, and you should have it set up so they can subscribe to your blog post. This sends them an automatic email every time you make another post. The whole goal of social media marketing for me always will be to put out great content, that brings in interested people to our website/blog, where they then can become a subscriber of ours in one way or another.

I think this opinion is pretty good and pretty right because through social media marketing, they did email marketing but under another way that you didn't think it is email marketing like we knew.

Obviously not because they are totally different. Both are two powerful marketing tools and smart handheld devices. Social media channels have a much higher engagement rate than email marketing.

It may look like it, but it is further than the truth. Both are still respectable marketing strategies that cater to different types of people and business purposes.

The one big reason is will never replace email is because social media and email are two different TYPES of media.

Social Media = Pull Media
Email = Push Media

Pull is when someone goes to look for something.
Push is when you send something to someone.

not at all, including social media in your marketing can help get more engagement but social media alone isn't enough..
Email marketing has the highest ROI of any marketing channel and is the preferred marketing channel for many marketers as it gives for CTR and conversions.

Not at all. Social Media and Email Marketing both are very different things. Email Marketing generates more ROI than any other strategy. Social Media craze rising but it will never be going to overtake Email Marketing in future.

My advice is don't compare two different marketing strategies. If a new strategy comes into the market, that doesn't mean old is not working now. Every strategy has its own advantages. Mostly, people use email marketing for sales, and social media marketing is for engagement and reach.
