Hi,
I'm building a blog for my site but problem is I don't know I should go with subdomain or folder for it
For examples:
If I publish the blog normally, the url would be something like:
www.mydomain.com/blog/

On the other hand, if I setup it with a subdomain, the url would look like:
blog.mydomain.com

My question is Subdomain and Folder, which one is better for SEO? and why?

please guide me
Thanks
Joe

I made some researches with google and realized that more big websites using folder on their site, of course some websites' using sub domain but folder is preferred :)

So, you should go with folder, that's my recommendation.

I believe it depends on how much content you are dealing with. Large or vast amounts of content would suit better a Bunker/Folder type structure.

For the other example, an SME offering a service, where the content is not heavy and the SME has a requirement to target Geo Graphic locations, then a sub domain Framed or Unframed would be preferred in my own opinion.

sub domain Framed service-description-location.URL[dotcodotuk]

sub domain unframed URL[dotcodotuk]/service-description-location/

The G00gle Search Quality Team did declare that certain ranking factors including Trust Rank are partially passed on in the sub domain structure. Presumably this may also include DA/PA etc
The sub domain is regarded as a website in its on right. This allows you to generate a high PR value attributed to the core homepage.
The sub domain core homepage URL can be keyword targeted.
In my experience the sub domain will rank more quickly, with longevity and will/can more easily out perform a more mature, but less well optimized competitor TLD.

Folder option is better for SEO as the value passes to it as well else sub-domains are considered as the completely new domain by the Google, so there is advantage that Google will consider url with folders as part of existing domain.
