We work with a lot of Small business with the owner that is still very involved in his/her business. Does PPC work well in the IT business?

Adwords also only really works if you know what the hell you’re doing… It’s so easy to burn through budgets very quickly and pay for clicks from people who never had any intention of becoming a lead or purchasing anything from you.

Can you define your market? Can you define your typical customer? If so and you can target these prospects it would work fine.

What is your Business Model in It field? I think if you be more specific about your questions than it will be more easy for us to give answer for your question.

Yes!
Well, Probably!
Well, Maybe!

It all depends on your audience, your product, your price and your competition. All 4 have to be right for PPC to work well. Otherwise you will be...

Audience wrong - ...wasting your time, because your audience are not looking for your services via search.
Product wrong - ...wasting your time & money because you can be paying for clients who don't actually want exactly what you are offering
Price wrong - ...wasting your time & money because your service is not reflective of your price, and people can find the same service elsewhere for cheaper
Competition wrong - ...wasting your money as if you are in a highly competitive market CPC can be high and any profits gained from any sales you do make can be very quickly eaten up by your PPC costs.

But get it right and it will be a gol

Depending on what you are selling or service you are offering if people are interested in them then im sure PPC works, i would suggest you test the water with certain elements such as certain types of keywords / bid types etc to find out if any convert into what you want them to do and achieve for you.

Personally i do find that Business to Business would normally be best at networking meetings that brings business together, contacting via referral or generally informing the company of what you do, if they find they need you they will be in touch.

I agree with everyone on this that say it all depends. The devil is in the details. If its a small business with a largely exclusive product, like lets say a local cheese or ham that cant be found elsewhere then yeah, PPC will be your friend.

I don't see why not. Every business that there is a chance its clients will look for it online can benefit from PPC if it is done correctly.

AdWords works for all niche and category until and unless you know who your target audiences are.

It would be of great help if you share your company niche with us so that we can guide you through correct path
