How do you currently promote offers?

I'm trying to figure out what some of the better ways are to promote your offers. I have tried a little bit of social media promotion but I haven't had a lot of success. Here are a couple of quick questions for you experts.

How do you currently promote offers?

Are there things that someone new should avoid?

Jen,
the way you promote an offer depends on the vertical mostly.
Some traffic sources are good for some verticals, however if we talk about this traffic source and other verticals - it may not work at all.
Also my suggestion to try different creatives with each traffic source.
Test a lot creatives to make a conclusion that this source doesn`t work.

It all depents what you actualy offer same as everyone else under cut though living costs? What offers can you really put on the table. The best SEO expert isnt emailing looking for work it rolls in due to the weight of their site though their SEO.

How I promote offers?
I have only one blog, so I use my blog to promote offers. And other side I use social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest etc.
