There are many ways you can start an online business. Depending on your interest and current skill level, you can look at starting a blog, and earn through affiliate marketing (although this method might take a longer time to build). Try MTURK and also google "sites like MTURK". Its a bunch of on demand microjobs you apply for. You will have to wait a day and my get disapproved but you will get a message another day about doing work. This is why I mentioned to search other sites like MTURK. Also youtube "jobs you can do from home" or "jobs you can do from your phone"

Working Online is a lot harder these days with so much competition, when starting out with the skills you have its worth trying out freelance websites but be cautions it can be headache with so many that maybe doing the same or similar to you and have better feedback, for example my experience on Upwork (started when it was Odesk) back then it was pretty simple and easy to get work but has now become a lot harder, Success to online comes with experience and trust, do you have work that you can show as a portfolio or have done something that can show the level of skill you have in your field of expertise.

If you can get your own site that is perfect because this will give you the power to promote what you offer via means of search, social media and word of mouth plus other marketing methods.
if you are unable to get your own website there is a many free services out there to help you get started with a blog or site, though i would recommend to hosting/owning your own website in time as you build yourself up away from the free sites out there.

It is from my experience worth blogging and writing / video along with being social about what you can do and talk about problems that can be solved in your niche. being helpful and becoming known should help you land an online job or some clients too.

This may sound easy but it is hard work which in most cases if you do not give up will eventually pay off and work well for you,

Just remember anyone or website that says you can make money online quickly and easy may just be too good to be true so be very wary of the potential scam sites or products that promise to make you 100s/1000s in a night, week, month etc.

Its a slow process when starting out but once you have it you will be onto a winner i am sure.
