Hi everyone,
We're working in the diet industry, and I've noticed that our website's conversion rates on AdWords are highly inconsistent. For instance, one day we might achieve a conversion rate of 4%, while the next day it could drop to just 0.5%.
Can anyone shed light on the reasons behind this fluctuation? Is anyone else experiencing similar issues with their campaigns?
Thanks for your insights!

It’s fun to think of your ads as being on a diet too! Like some days your ads really rock, and other days it’s just not feeling it for them 😅, it might be when the audience is feeling kinda funny that day, or maybe there’s something going on in the news... Maybe tracking where your ads perform best might help smooth over those fluctuations.

Inconsistent conversion rates on Google Ads (AdWords) in the diet industry can occur for several reasons:

  1. Target Audience Mismatch: If your ads aren't reaching the right audience—whether in terms of demographics, interests, or search intent—conversion rates can fluctuate. It's crucial to fine-tune targeting options like keywords, location, device types, and times of day to ensure relevance.
  2. Ad Copy and Landing Page Alignment: If the messaging in your ads doesn't match the content or offer on your landing page, visitors may leave without converting. Consistency in messaging, design, and user experience is key to improving conversions.
  3. Seasonality: The diet industry can experience seasonal demand shifts, like New Year's resolutions or summer fitness goals. These peaks and valleys can lead to fluctuating conversion rates, so tracking and adjusting campaigns around these cycles can help.
  4. Competition and Bidding Strategy: The diet market is highly competitive, which can lead to varying CPC (Cost Per Click) and competition for top ad positions. Adjusting bids and using more specific long-tail keywords can help manage competition and improve conversion consistency.
