Sorry to say, but I am not agree with you, just on the basis of content, one website can not rank on the top most position, how is it possible for any website to rank on top position with it's each and every content? It is so difficult.

Is it possible? Yes, if you have targeted very low competitive keywords with lot numbers of searches and no one is targeting that particular keywords..Again only content is not enough..you need back links and must..it gives weight to that keyword related page..

If you have seen that lots of blogs gets higher rank on the search engine, of which if you will check the linkbuilding then you will find that you can count the backlinks with the help of your fingers, that means less than 20. Yes it is possible, as some professional and educational websites are completely based on contents, they don't require inphographics and tier services, so it is possible that on the basis of only relevant,unique and quality contents a website can rank on top.
