If you have strong SEO skills but think a "location extension" requires a building permit then Adwords is probably going to end up costing you more money.

SEO means to do work for the website- Search Engine Optimization. The best SEO is white hat SEO. SEO is the process for life time traffic generation. But Ad words will give you limited traffic. And there is no guarantee the Ad words traffic will return to your website again. SEO traffic will return to your website several times because they will come from several sources.

There is no guarantee that SEO traffic will ever come back to your website either. That is kind of silly.

AdWords traffic is also not any more limited than SEO traffic is. You can target the exact same keywords.

You should be doing both, but to say that SEO is cheaper than AdWords is just not true at all. A good SEO campaign could take you 6 months or longer to see results.

Meanwhile, with AdWords, I can start getting traffic in a few hours.

Obviously SEO is cheaper then Adwords. But SEO not free. If you do your website SEO then it's your free. I think SEO is better than Adword.
